The Hydro Hotel is conveniently placed close to shops, pubs, restaurants and the casino. We offer entertainment during the summer months. It is only a short walk or bus ride into Douglas town centre.

Brief History

Built in 1910 this well established 56 bedroom hotel offers modern facilities whilst retaining much of it’s original charm. We are open throughout the year and welcome all guests whether on business or leisure to come and enjoy our fantastic hospitality.

Bookings & Cancellations

What time is check in/check out?

Bedrooms are available from 2pm on your day of arrival, however, if you arrive earlier we will do our best to get you into your room as soon as possible.

If you require breakfast on your day of arrival this is available at a charge of £8.95 per person.

Bedrooms must be vacated by 11am on your day of departure. Luggage may be left at reception if required.

Is a late check out available?

A late check out may be possible, subject to availability, at a cost of £30.

This allows you to keep your room until no later than 6pm.

This must be booked and paid for in advance.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours prior to arrival free of charge, however all deposits paid to the hotel are non-refundable.

If you have booked directly with the hotel please contact us and we will arrange this for you.

If you have booked via a third party or online travel agent you will need to contact them directly to cancel your booking and additional charges may apply, in accordance with their cancellation policy.

Can I amend my booking?

 You can change your booking, subject to availability, up until 24 hours before your arrival although we cannot always guarantee the same room rate and additional charges may apply.

If you have booked directly with the hotel please contact us by either phone or e-mail and we will be happy to help.

If you have booked through a third party or online travel agent you will need to contact them directly to make amendments to your upcoming reservation.

Do you accept group bookings?

We do accept group bookings, dependent on availability, and are happy to look at tailoring a package to suit your specific group need.

For bookings of 10 or more rooms please contact us directly via phone or email letting us know your requirements.

Hotel Facilities

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served between 7:30am and 10am in the restaurant.

Early continental breakfast is available before 7:30am. This must be pre-booked at reception no later than 8pm the evening before.

Is there wheelchair access to the hotel?

The hotel does not have ramp access and there are 9 steps from the promenade to the entrance of the hotel.

The hotel lift stops at half landings meaning that there are an additional 5-8 steps either up or down to access the bedroom corridors.

What TV channels are there in my room?

All main UK free-view channels are available including BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Does the hotel have a shop?

Whilst the hotel does not have a shop there is a kiosk at reception from where you can purchase toiletries and some essential items.

What public transport is available from the hotel?

Access to the local busses and horse tram services is available from the promenade right outside of the hotel.

The Manx Electric Railway, which takes you to the north of the Island, is a short walk away along the promenade.

You can also access the Steam Railway, taking in the south of the Island, with a short bus ride and walk.

Timetables for all of these services are available from reception.

TT & Grand Prix

How do I book for TT/Grand Prix?

To book for TT or Grand Prix you will need to contact the hotel directly as online availability will be very limited during these peak times.

When do bookings open?

Bookings open a year in advance of each of the Islands major motorsport events.

Is there a minimum stay?

Throughout the TT fortnight we require booking to be for a minimum of 8 nights.

During Manx Grand Prix you will need to book for a minimum of 7 nights.

If there is additional availability for short stay guests nearer the time of the events these will be made available. 

If you have alternative needs outside of our minimum stay requirements please contact us and will see if we are able to accommodate you.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We take a minimum non-refundable deposit of £50 per person for each booking during these times.

Are there any additional Food & Beverage facilities available?

In addition to our usual offering we open a bistro during the peak times of both motor sport festivals serving evening meals.

Packed lunches are also available to any guests wanting them as they head out to enjoy the days racing or explore the Island.
